Dear Pam:

\J	I just got around to reading your letter and syllabus. It makes me
want to take your course, although I would probably have difficulty in passing
as I never mastered concrete description. If, however, I did pass it, then I
think I could write stories. I showed \F2Doctor's Dilemna\F1 to a book
editor from \F2The Atlantic\F1 who said that he would show it to some
of his colleagues. But, nothing ever came of it, so I'll try \F2Harper's\F1.

By the way, Ed Fredkin gave the problem to his problem solving class at
MIT and sent me the resulting essays. However, I bet they won't be as good as the one's
your writing students come up with, because if I recall correctly, they tried
to be writers and took no advantage of their science.\.
